Lan Tuazon presents her first solo exhibition in Germany with Ingredients of Reality. Surrealist in concept, Tuazon takes real/existing parts of the built environment, buildings, street furniture, and monuments to re-order and make a new whole. They become familiar yet distant places. The logic of the real has been made different to show the limitation of this historical present. Public spaces are the material existence of democracy and by the simple reordering of the tangible world, Tuazon gives form to an imaginary impossible. If it is none of this, then it is simply fine art’s version of reality’s remix.
