Copula: Thumb Hospital

Copula links two dif ferent things together, between subject and object. Both objects are containers for vital body parts, fetishized as a signifier of being. The Canopic Chest contains internal organs of the deceased while the Thumb Hospital is a casing for a thumb, a physical feature of the primate family enabling the species to create tools. The Thumb Hospital diagnoses a sick or defeated state in human development.
